"America's sweetheart, lover of children and animals...!"Formerly, anyway.
Since I drew Lacy, who is sixteen as of 1956 (CDD takes place around when "Gone With the Wind" was released, which was 1939, so if we assume Lacy was born in 1940, this makes sense), I figured... hell, why not draw the ever-demonic Darla Dimple in her 20s?
She looks kind of terrifying. The wasp-waist dress doesn't help matters. But it was in during the 50s, and it definitely suits her. One of my friends says I should draw Max... and that he shouldn't have aged at all. Which... really wouldn't surprise me. *shudders*
Darla belongs to the good folks who own Cats Don't Dance. She's certainly not mine. I wouldn't want her!

There's a line in the world renowned musical "Wicked!" that goes as follows: the most celebrated are the rehabilitated.
Many stars have gone through periods where they've done something bad or awful (drugs and the like) and they've made a comeback. It is possible. If she made herself look nice, that's all she'd have to do.

hehe, she really has changed. In the movie she could hide her terrible personality behind her cute little girl looks, but now she wears it out on her sleeves. No more pretending for her I guess x]

When the world knows what you've done, it's very hard to put that behind her. I need to draw her when she's "being sweet." Because she really is quite capable of it these days... XD

I must say that your art is just absolutely amazing. ._. I've been stalking your progress since the grand age of Fanart Central.. And, really, wow.. xD I don't know why, but this drawing just REALLY got to me. It is easy to tell that there's been a bit of aging with Darla and all, don't worry, I'm not intentionally saying that you've made no difference with her, but.. o-o I just KNEW who this pretty lady is upon gazing over the thumbnail and reading the title. XD Then just reading the Artists Comments just sent shivers down my spine. x] This piece is definate lurves~! <3

Haha, I always had trouble accepting that Darla would willingly relegate herself to working as a janitor for the rest of her days. Even if her fame was over, she would still have the wealth she'd accumulated up to that point, and she may not've been constantly smart, but she was crafty. So I'm of the mind that she would've groomed herself to get back into the business after time had passed... and, of course, the fact that Lacy's going to be starring in a musical about how animals got into Hollywood (basically ousting her)? It's twisting the knife. XD

Ooh~ xD I'd hate to be in Lacy's shoes, having Darla glaring daggers at me. ._.; You're right about that silly little girl being crafty. One could only imagine some of the things she can do in her twenties. D: Oh mai.. I fear for Lacy's life.
