Very few people really remember "The Great Mouse Detective", let alone like it. But me... yes, I'm of the few who loves this movie to death. It's one of my top five favorite Disney movies (101 Dalmations, The Great Mouse Detective, Oliver and Company, Robin Hood, and The Lion King).And so, after watching this movie tonight (I rented it because I'd been wanting to watch it... I don't own it, sob), I decided to draw who else but the character to whom the title alludes: the great, if not a wee bit eccentric, mouse detective himself, Basil of Bakerstreet.
Hurrah for old fandoms!

yes, a huge hurrah for one of the best films in all of history. I watched it last night. being 15 I fell in love with it all over again. I have so long long loved this film and now it has regained its place on my top 5 list, the GDM being the very first one! And I absolutely love your drawing !

I think that GMD is almost a "cult" movie; it's not hugely known but those of us who love it, woe to any who get between it and us! XD I believe it is one of the great successes of animation. ^^
Basil has a great perky expression here, you got his proportions down nicely and I think you did a great job on making his fingers long and slender. <3

It really is one of those movies that gained a cult following more after its release than during. Which I'm almost happy for. It's such a fun movie, though, and so hard to resist!

Oh I agree, I think it is a great show(in fact I'd probebly draw him if it weren't that I can't draw animals.

Amazing, those five have to be my favorite Disney movies too. Just add Bambi, that was my first and it's so fun to draw.
