Basically, where I live there are a lot of people who spend money to boost social status, even if they don't have the money. (Credit card debt, etc.) And it's caused a lot of young people to completely devalue money in my opinion. It made me think of the old saying "Money down the toilet". And it made me think even further about what would happen if you actually did flush money down the toilet. Maybe mice would have a better respect of our currency. lol

My take on it is consumerism. The way we spend money on worthless things, to us, money is a means to an end. To this little rodent its nothing but a piece of paper. He'll probably use it for his nest. For him, its just part of the essentials of survival.
