Description

Finally got off my lazy butt to just barely make it in time for Pokemon's 20th anniversary! I put in several of my favorite pocket monsters from multiple generations.

Seems like only yesterday I was hacking pokemon during recess and spent far too long catching them all. Made several good pals through the games though, so I have no regrets.

Never let your childhood memories consume you, but do still keep it close in your hearts, people!

Hi im here from project Comment

First of all before i critique let me just say I love the way you drew Gallade he has to be one of my top ten favorites, but the whole picture is rather amazing itself.

I do see some areas to work on though, Mainly Mays head. It shouldn't be quite as long her head was a bit more round. her eyes could have been a tad bit smaller as well.

The shading is amazing and honestly I myself do not see anything wrong with it, So that Area checks out fine.

Overall if youre drawing characters that are cannon in shows, try looking up refs (not saying you didnt) and study them really closely and try to match the features as best as possible. But I really do think you did a wonderful job on this keep up the good work ^_^

Respect for including all the 'cool' Pokemon.  While most are honoring the game's 20th anniversary by stuffing dA with images of Pikachu and Eevee, you had the Pokeballs to honor greats like Scizor, Haunter and Darkrai.  What I like most about the image is the liveliness.  The creatures explode off my screen in a thrilling and energetic way.  It looks like the product of a guy having fun with his art.

My Pokemon adventure began on December 25th, 1998.  Twelve-year-old me once stared at the stuffed Zubats hanging from ceiling tiles at Taco Bell, and never dreamed this thing would still be going strong, today.  But, here we are.  The biggest phenomenon in gaming history.  We tried to catch them all, but truth is, it was the lovable creatures themselves who have captured the hearts of so many.  To the point they no longer belong to Nintendo or Game Freak.  They belong to everyone.

Yeah, I had a lot of fun doing this one! I was tempted to just put in my favorite pokemon overall, but thought it'd be less fitting since the piece would only represent like, two regions. I wanted to put an Alola and Kalos pokemon too, but figured any more than six would be cluttered. Guess I'll have to draw Noivern and Silvally later.

Eloquently put, my friend. I really don't think this franchise is going anywhere anytime soon, and maybe that's for the better. I never actually caught them all tbh. It's way too tedious  Maybe that's why the tagline is used much less now. It's less about collecting 800 pokemon, and moreso a social experience. A pretty fantastic one.

My adventure started in April 2008 when I saw some kids on my elementary school playground holding this weird system with two screens, tapping it with a pen. I wondered why they were so enamored with exchanging virtual creatures. The rest is history. I never thought I'd still be going strong 8 years later.
