Have you seen Paprika? They have an awesome parade scene where a family turns into the kitties (I call them luck kitties out of habit >_< Well, most of the anime is a parade scene, but it's really awesome! It was made by the same people who did Tokyo Godfathers and Perfect Blue ~_~

lol it's fine to call them whatever you want. the literal translation is beckoning.
I've been meaning to rent paprika, since I liked the other 2.. I think I own those still too.. so many of my dvds are packed away :<

I absolutely loved it! The art is awesome and the story is great! It is a little confusing, but it isn't meant to be understood until the end ^__^

i heart manekinekos (didn't even know what they're called, but i'd see them from time to time in front of chinese and japanese owned establishments). i dunno but this art looks like marshmellows. tasty colorful beckoning cat marshmellows.
