This is a Shuttlepod inspired by a design by

Shuttlepods are small auxiliary crafts designed for short-range transportation of personnel and/or cargo, as well as for extravehicular inspections of starships and stations. Unlike larger Shuttlecrafts, the Shuttlepod cannot achieve warp speeds, however it can match it's larger cousins in atmospheric flight, allowing it to make routine flights between orbiting craft or stations and planetside facilities, making this design obiquitious on Federation Space, specially on Earth-controlled space, colonies and starships (both Starfleet and civilian). It lacks weapons, so it relies on friendly ships for defense, but it has a powerful tractor beam emitter, allowing it to tow other craft.
