In all honesty I think it's one of the best comedies ever made. I watched it with a mate a while ago on a big screen telly and we were killing ourselfs laughing at the jokes we didnt spot the first time! Darwin is my fav! ^^

NOW I wish I had seen it in theaters. It's such a great movie! But at the time, as I'm not too familiar with Aardman, I wasn't sure what kind of humor they would have in it. Some cartoons nowadays can be pretty dirty (yes, even the PG ones).
But it WAS brilliant!!

I didn't see it in the theaters but I watched it on a big screen telly. Aardman is always best known for their British sense of humor and basically being some of the greatest stop motion artists on earth, and they have done some great comedic works. But the only time they've done truly adult humor (defo not for kids) was on their short lived series "Angry Kid" which combined stop motion and live action. But Pirates is easily their greatest work as far as comedy goes (not including their Wallace and Gromit) I think the film is criminally underrated.
