I'll bet they have to do this every island they stop at. I'll also guess that Charles gets rather distracted when they're treasure hunting.

"We're supposed to be doing piratey things!" You know, no matter where you take a field trip, there'll always be someone in the group utterly fascinated by something no one else is all that excited about and that wasn't really meant to be part of the field trip proper. Go into a fancy natural history museum, somebody will be intrigued by the architectural choices made to support the unusually shaped collection of articles. Go to see a reinactment of a traditional Mayan rain dance, someone will be watching the spectators and thinking what funny sorts people are. Point being, there's something everywhere for everyone and Darwin sure seems good at finding it. XD Less good with time management.

If it was a butterfly, Alfred Russel Wallace would be more appropriate. For Charles Darwin, maybe a barnacle or earthworm. I know this is movie fan art, but I couldn't help geeking out...

Scarf would certainly be the busiest of the pirates. I think he makes it his job to look out for everyone in addition to his general piratical work. And I also imagine the Captain's always calling on him for simple thing he doesn't particularly want to do as well. After all we've seen the kinds of things his job entails---making nautical noises and such. LOL!
