Description
Kessie went back over to Ooflit and took Gobby off her shoulder. “Hey Ooflit, can you do something for me and Gobby? Can he ride with you while we walk, and can you try and keep him dry? The rain won’t hurt him, but he doesn’t like getting wet, very much. And he knows he’ll get wet if he rides on my shoulder!”
Gobby, still in the blobby humanoid form, crossed his ‘arms’ and gave an exaggerated nod. As Kessie held him up in front of the little girl, he reached out to her like a toddler that wants to be picked up.
Ooflit's eyes grew huge and her little mouth dropped in disbelief. She gave Kessie a very serious nod as she reached both of her hands out, slowly and carefully to Gobby.
Nooyan smiled gratefully at Kessie and then Gobby. They were doing a surprisingly good job of distracting her from the storm outside.
