Another copic picture. I've been really wanting to push the size difference between these two. I think I fail at times. Rover is a bit taller than your average human, while Flyspur is a bit shorter.Related content

I didn't realize how much bigger he is until now...
It is, but it's so adorable. He thinks he's such a big, grown-up human boy with that hat on; I can see it in his posture.

They are, which makes them look so cute and tiny! Flyspur seems really short when compared with Rover, but is he of average height in comparison with other Jssfloon?
I bet that's why he's so attached to it later on. If he loses his hat, he loses his humanity as well as the daring and courage that he seems to think are inheriently "human" along with it.

Flyspur is average size for a Jssfloon as an adult. But he was kind a runty kid.
Yes. Although he is perfectly capable of being brave without it it does give him a sense of security.

Ah cool! I guess I never stopped to think about their height difference as kids either. I guess it's obvious, but never directly thought of it when visualizing them at that age. The expressions on their faces are great!

Ah, I was noticing their heights look a little closer like in the Brothers comic.^^ With all your characters and all though, you do amazing at being consistent with all of their difference though.^^

I know what you mean about size difficulties--I used to draw Orin too large in comparison to Scotty in my Star Trek fanart, and now I think I often draw her just a little bit too small. It's hard to keep characters' ratios consistent!

Jssfloon public buildings are made with other species in mind so they are pretty big. Jssfloon homes are another story. In those, yeah a bit when he is full grown.

Flyspur is always a little confused by Rovers dramatic posing. But he's pretty obliging little guy. I want to do a photo booth strip pic of these two. I think it would be fun!

Rover grew steadily, wile Flyspur grew mostly in metamorphic bursts. So there were times when Rover was waaay taller than Flyspur.

Makes sense. I can picture Rover trying to get Flyspur to do something stupid that Rover's too big to do himself, like crawl down a random hole to see if the critter is in the den.

Rover shook his head and chuckled. "Alright. Just to ease your fretin' little mind, pardner." He got to his knees and shoved his arm in up to his shoulder.

Rovers eyes widened in surprise and tried to pull it back out. "Well, Blue...looks like we might just have a little friend in there."

He pulled harder with little luck.
"Maybe a not-so-little friend," Flyspur said.

Rover laughed, albeit a bit sheepishly now. "Might be.". He pulled harder, putting all his weight into it this time.

Rover's hand and the creature popped out. The sudden release landed Rover on his rear.

It was a long thing, like a cross between a Tasmanian devil and a snake and it was savagely gnawing on his arm with little snarled and clinking noises as its needle like teeth chewed at the metal. He gave it a kick with both feet, knocking it off of him. It hissed and slithered away.
Rover stood and dusted himself off, avoiding Flyspur's accusing gaze for a moment. "Ahem...welp! Hole's empty. In you go, pardner!"
