I've been a bit quiet of late, which I apologize for
~DarkVolt 's character designs inspired me out of my artistic hermitude to do some fanservice -- that, and I find him to be a pretty nice guy. :3
Lately I've found it much more enjoyable to draw in low-res images. I can tell you right away that this is a terrible decision if I ever mean to print anything I make, but ... truly, it helps quiet the urge to zoom in and add more detail.

Funny to get a charackter drawn by someone else. Especially because it's what 'I' do all the time, normally.
Love it to dead and analize the coloring style.
And the details are amazing. The beld, the plate, the reflections on the metal, the face trough the mask and the Bat-Logo! *dies*

it's the great thing about characters with capes-- if you don't feel like drawing it, cover it with cape! XD

He looks awesome! Love the way some parts look flat while others are quite detailed, and all of it rather simple! Exellent combination of techniques!

Hey, that looks great. And I love the contrast of the solid colors of the hair compared to the painterly look of everything else. And I especially love the way you colored the eyes. I demand more!
I used to sketch in low res before but lately I do everything colored at least at 300 dpi. And all my sketches now are at 600dpi for the "just in case I decide to print an art book" reason. LOL

also-- do you sketch in photoshop or manga studio?

LOL my brain isn't a pretty place look into! I exclusively sketch in Photoshop in case I want to color it right away and I'm too lazy to switch applications. Although manga studio is pretty good for sketching too and it's perfect for working on b/w artworks like manga. Niko does all his sketching and inking on manga studio. I do my sketches on photoshop and ink in painter though.

I tried out the Manga Studio pro trial for a bit-- a much better improvement over the debut version that I own (especially for hotkey customization). I'll pick it up one of these days, I just love the pen control in it

Man, I just love this style of yours. The way your coloured his armor is gorgeous. I also like what you've done with DV's hair- the flat look of it makes it stylish.

whenever I do pictures like this, I always feel incredibly rusty-- despite the fact that I am coloring every day XD
my other attempts at doing a flat hair style has taught me that it does not work in all circumstances
