Description In my opinion the only good angle of the Ken Adam/ Ralph Macquarie Enterprise.

One of the few examples of films i'm fairly glad never got made. Mainly as it would have ended the Star Trek saga in its tracks having the crew getting stuck in time and turning out to essentially be Adam and Eve. Having Leonard Nimoy battling Toshiro Mifune on the other hand sounds class.

The Ship had a severable saucer section which would land on the planet. As Far as im aware Ken Adam came up with the shape while Macquarie did the detailing.

That's a pretty damned ugly ship. No offense to your art, only to the concept.

No offence taken, I guess had the film happened, Star Trek would have been very different.

I'm very glad it didn't happen. The design of the ship alone gives me the creeps, and the plot they came up with is sheer insanity.

This ship was also used in the Battle of Wolf 359, as a wreck - I think its an Apollo Class back then.

I remember this, and there were two versions - the other had a wider hull and smaller nacelles. However despite the ugly nature of this one, you made it looks stunning!

Well done

It's a shame. This angle of the design is actually really good. I love the concept sketch this is based off of, it has a real sense of speed.

Many people have tried to adapt the design to fit more "conventional" Trek concepts, and it only serves to lose the vessel of it's different charm.

Also, I very much doubt it would have been the end of Star Trek had the film been a success. Kirk and company had gone back in time during the TOS run and returned to the present before. "All Our Yesterdays"

Did you actually model the ship in the image or did you just do image composting?

I modelled it you can see the animated shot in the video link above .

Possibly, the plot summary did give the impression the arc came full circle so who knows, it sounded like an interesting project.
