When I saw this in the message center at #DisneyDreamers I figured it must be a witch from Disney's latest Disney Fairies stories. Very nicely done. Did you use colored pencils? I really like how you shadowed and used light to color. I guess I need some lessons because I've used colored pencils but they certainly do not come out like this. Lovely.

It's Vidia and she's the "evil" one of the fairies, I've just drawn her in a witch dress because of halloween.
Yeah I've used colored pencils. But I'm not sure if I can give you any hint, because I'm still trying to improve my style. It's just that I learn something new with every picture I color and I can use that for the next one. And I'm taking a look at others art to see what makes it look so great and try to do that too. I'm not sure if this does help.

I constantly learn doing photo manipulations, so I know what you mean. I do have arthritis in my index fingers making it more difficult to hold onto pens, pencils and the like for long periods of time, but I still like to do some traditional art. Your work is amazing

My mum uses ledum against arthritis, it's a homeopathic drug and she says it helps!
I was thinking of doing photo manipulations too, but I think I can't handle these programs!

Thanks so much for the heads-up about Ledum. It is on my grocery list. I looked it up and it said it is good for Lyme disease, too, which I may have come across years ago when in Florida in between two hurricanes trying to help friends clean up the mess prior to getting evacuated. I have been suffering with fatigue (a symptom ~ my doctor thinks I'm nuts) ever since. Anyhoo, the site said that Ledum is good for those symptoms as well 
If I can do manips anyone can. They aren't difficult just time consuming. You have to be really careful removing backgrounds and working in layers to keep the different aspects looking blended. I will, also put a blank layer underneath another layer just to use to add a shadow using a brush tool that is soft or blurry around the edges at 50% opacity (or less).

When I hear you talking about photomanips I really think it's nothing for me! I don't think I would have the endurance to cut out all the elements and such things.

If you check #Clear-Cut there are stocks that are useful as they are pre-cut. There is usually still some work to "trim" them and make sure the background is totally clear, but then it is just a matter of adjusting them to the desired color, size, saturation, etc. for use in a manipulation. I just posted three new wallpapers. I had to cut out the space station (took me many hours over three days) but otherwise I used brushes and a planet zip pack. I'll admit, manipulations do take endurance as it can take me days to make just one

Yeah, you need a few days to make one manipulation... But I don't know anything about programs like photoshop (even though I got it.. I don't know why, just got it from a friend...). I've never work with it because it looks so complicated. 
So I think I will stay a traditional artist! But I still love digital art and photomanipulation. I wish I could do that by myself! But I'm too lazy to learn it!

It isn't really complicated to use Photoshop, it is just best if you can see someone using it! There are video tutorials on YouTube that are quite good. The "help" that comes with the program is about worthless. I only have Elements, and not "real" PhotoShop but I can do a lot with it
