I haven't done fairies fan art in a long time, and I wanted to see how I could do at drawing Vidia. I really like her character design, it's so interesting. A while back, I drew the basic pics of her from the How To Draw Disney Fairies book, but I hadn't attempted her since then.I'm really happy with her! I think she turned out just angular enough to look like Vidia, but not so angular you could cut yourself on any of her joints. Her wings were my favorite part to draw, being tatty and ragged. I also really really really like her colors! They were a lot of fun to play around with, and they look so cool together!
If you're a Fairies fan, tell me what you think!
Done in red Colerase pencil, so if it looks like she's got a weird red twinge behind her, I promise you're not going crazy. Yet.

I have both the Tinker Bell movies and the Disney Fairies books, and I like both version of how Vidia looks differently in them. I like her in this pose.

This is very neat! I'm glad that you drew her this way. It made me so mad when they changed her character design for the movies. In the movies she's less tattered and angular, but that's what makes Vidia... herself. Great job

But i love this Fairy!
Maybe you think she's evil but for me Vidia is the best Fairy of all.

A lot of the fans say she's just evil, but most official sources I've been to say she's not irredeemably so. I actually share two main things in common. Both of us are athletic and both have been isolated from society whether by choice or forcibly so. By the way, I have run a 5K (3.14 miles) in 20 minutes 48 seconds, do we know how fast Vidia can fly? Also, could somebody clear up whether Vidia is a true villain or also has a soft side?

Well have to say she looks nice in your drawing⦠I always envy people who can do colored pictures whit out making them look strange. And I agree that Vidia is most interesting fairy Disney have by far. Overall nicely done pic! I tip my hat for you..

Vidia is funny because she is sarcastic, she's the kind of grl who'll said "Never drink and drive, but I fly so I don't care. I'm better than you!"

i love disney faeries to (realy big fan, i think)...and by the way, yours is realy great...and i'm wondering if you can tel me were can i find that book you were talking about, How To Draw Disney Fairies, or something else with pictures of the faeries (especially from Vidia, my favorite. i already have 2 books, but it's not enough :S).

^_^ Always nice to meet another Disney Fairies fan! I found my How To Draw book in Barnes and Noble, as well as the smaller chapter books, which are typically in the kids section of any major bookstore.

Well I'm no fan of fairies in general but I do make the exception for Vidia.
I like Vidia because she puts fairies in a new perspective. She's all Dark and mischievous but not evil.

Yes she is. I believe you and I like Vidia because she brings an unknown balance to the world of Fairies. Whereas everyone's super nice, Vidia isn't but she's not evil. All the fairies are good but Vidia is the one fairy who shows that not all fairies are totally completely good. Even they are capable of doing something mean/bad. Plus she's drawn very well.
Didn't make me cry but I felt sympathy for her.

Agreed. It puts realism in it. A tad of Sourness amongst sweetness is what a lot of people love.
She's mine too, but I'm not an emotional person. I usually get attached to the Underdogs and the anti-heroes/heroines.

^_^ I mostly think she's kind of a fascinating character study, you know? She's kind of made to be sour, the way all the other fairies seem to be made to be sweet- something tells me her nature can't change. But the way she still seems to have moments of kindness that she wraps up in a sour facade is really interesting to me. I'm always looking for how she'll react to different things, and different people.
I know what you mean, my brother is the same way- always rooting for the underdogs! ^_^

Yeah. I always scan through all the books I find to see if Vidia is in it. Just to read her interactions to different fairies. They're always interesting. I thought to myself more than once What do you suppose she would be like if she was partnered with a Nobody in Kingdom Hearts. Much like Tink interacts with Sora.
They have the best character personalties.

Nah. Riku doesn't deserve someone as cool as Vidia. But I'm glad you like my idea.
I was thinking of writing it. But Id use an OC who has different opinion on Darkness. Someone who can also relate to Vidia. Plus I've been wanting to beat upon Sora and Peter Pan for a looooooonnng time.
