I'm so happy with this one! This is Rani, from the Disney Fairies series. She's my absolute favorite character in the series, and she's just beautiful. So I've tried to draw her a few times, but she's never quite come out right. Most of my fanart comes from drawing freehand from a picture, but this was drawn using reference pics and my own imagination! Normally I'm not that great at coming up with poses (but I think this one works), and I'm REALLY not good with backgrounds (as you can tell from all my other deviations), but this one surprised me! ^_^And yes, before I get the questions, she is a fairy, but she has no wings. Read Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg. Just do it.
Drawn with pencil, inked in with Sakura Micron and Faber Castell pens, then colored with colored pencil. Rani and the Disney Fairies all belong to Disney and I'm grateful that they let her play with me for a while.

Thank you! The glow effect was mostly just erasing the color from that spot and coloring over it with whiteish and yellowish highlights. It was fun to do! ^_^
I think I'll have to retool this picture at some point. My art has progressed so much I know I could do much better now!

i'm got a q for you. are there books or films for this line . . . or just dolls . . . i think the disney faries are adorable, but i don't really know who they are.

There are books, that's how the series started, actually. The first book is called Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg, and it's really good. There's also a second book called Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Wand, and a bunch of smaller, chapter books in the series as well. They're really fun- you should definitely read them if you get the chance, it's an addictive little series. ^_^

^_^ Rani's my favorite. I'm glad I'm not the only one, either! Did you know they're coming out with a sequel, hopefully later this year? The plot is getting the mermaids the wand that Rani promised them. I'm really happy, cause that was a plot point I wished they had addressed somehow in the first one. I can't wait to read it!

Oh I know!! I'm absolutely in love with the series, and I'm probably going to do a lot more fairies fanart. Some of my own design, mostly of existing characters. Probably very minimal Tink fanart, since, you're right- there's so much out there already. Thanks for the comment!
