This is for this month's theme: Cherry Blossom!I saw the theme, and immediately this image popped into my head of a fairy designing a cherry blossom dress. Eventually these two characters developed personalities, and a story came out of the picture.
The seamstress is a very sweet sort of fairy, and had this idea for a dress, using the cherry blossoms that had just bloomed. She wanted to keep her idea a secret from the other seamstresses, however, so decided to ask a fairy to model who had never worked in the dress shop before.
This fairy had never been asked to do anything so exciting before. She was very happy to help, and very excited to model a new dress, but was very nervous. She didn't know how to stand, or what she was supposed to do. The seamstress had asked her to raise her arms at one point, and half an hour later she still had them up, not sure if she was supposed to put them down yet. Her friend worked on, wrapped up in finishing her dress, unaware of how nervous her model was.
I had fun with it! My favorite part was the flower rugs- they were like, six layers of color- tons of fun to color. Feel free to leave any constructive criticism! I'm always looking to improve!

*sigh* I've been working for a mouse, day in and day out. We just passed the Spring Break rush (i.e. CRAZY HOURS), and now we're getting into the summer which is crazy time for the Floridian tourists.
Hopefully I'll be around more often- my best friend is done with her internship here in Disney World soon, and my other friends have all finished their internships and while they're still around and working, they're not in the same apartment complex as I am anymore. Hopefully this means I'll have more time to sit around idly on the internet and/or draw.
I'll try to be around more often, I promise! ^_^

I hadn't seen this! It's so cute and gorgeous! I especially love the design of the dress, and you did well with the anatomy of the model

Thank you! The dress was really fun to design, and I had fun making the model a little chunkier than the other fairy.
I really need to start drawing more! *sigh* Hopefully I'll get out of my art rut soon and go back to drawing and improving the way I did last year!

Yay faeries! I love this ^__^ The design for the cherry blossom dress is so pretty and I adore the story behind this picture. Isnt it great how sometimes things just develop on their own? I also really like the design of the seamstress fairy. Her hair is gorgeous. Fantastic job!

It is really fun sometimes to watch things that you draw develp a story, or names, or personalities.

It's really nice. I like the dress and the cake platform. Also how the sewing pins are sticking in the blue haired fairy's hair and her trasparent wings.
I had a quite similar idea (of a fairy sewing a dress for another fairy made from cherry flower petals) in mind for a sumission to the club, though I planned the dress to be made of many cherry flower petals and the sewing fairy to be surrounded by lots of cherry flower petals.
Unfortunately I only came to fave several cherry flower stock photos on the 24th of March, before I changed my mind to try an entry for enother contest.
Maybe I will try to put my original concept into practice. It would certainly look different from yours and I would hint to this deviation as you were preceding me in putting the idea into practice.

Thank you! I really had fun designing the dress, and the cake-like platform was fun to color. I tried really hard to add in more details (like the pins and the transparency to the wings)- I'm glad you like them!
