Description
My first submission for !The theme was 'Labyrinth', so here's my pic of a girl in the process of getting through one of the tough hedge mazes. In my head, she's an adventurer, and she's forcing herself to take on the challenges in the maze to get to some important goal at the end of it.
I'm really happy with the result! (Though rather sick of the color green.)

The red hair and the green go well together, but then again the colors in general go great together in this picture.

^_^ Thank you! I really like having complete accountability for my art. It doesn't look nice cause the computer program is good, or cause the textures I found are really nice, it's cause I colored it well, you know? It is a lot of work, but I feel much more satisfied than I did with the two or three digital things I've done.

I can imagine that your tired after so much green. I would seriously have nightmares about the color green after coloring so much with it. XD You did a really good job with casting the shadow on her face from her arm. It really gives a good impression how hot it must be.

^_^ Yeah, the picture I'm working on right now has absolutely NO green in it at all. I think I was happy to get away from it for a bit.
I'm glad you like the shadow across her face! One of my friends recently pointed out to me that I almost never take shadow into account, so I've been trying to get used to them.

Yay for the adventurer! I really like all the detail in this - the background, her clothes and the tear in them, her sweat and the bright sun. It's like an action piece; even if she's not moving, you can tell what she's doing and what she might do next. I hope her adventure goes well!

Yeah, in my head, she's been there for hours, and she's still not terribly close to her goal. I like to think that the snake is helping her along, though. Maybe he's a native of the labyrinth that can guide her...

Yeah, I really try not to give everyone the same perfect body type. I don't have an ideal figure, and I probably don't know 10 girls that do. Everyone has a little more up top, or a little more bottom, or bigger hips, or a slightly bigger stomach, or something. I think it's important to draw real people, not necessarily perfect ones.

I really like her pose and facial expression. I also like the little details, like the beads of sweat and torn legging. It looks like it could be a children's book illustration with the clean lines and bright colors. Maybe add some blades of grass over the snake to make it appear more in the grass. But really nice details and colors.

^_^ Thank you so much! I've been trying to put more details into my drawings- in the past, they've been relatively lacklustre. Someday, I'd really like to get into children's illustrations, so that's a really big compliment for me!
I noticed that blades of grass should have been in front of the snake, but it was only after I'd already inked him in. I'll definitely keep that in mind for future pics- thanks for pointing it out! ^_^
