I was skeptical when they announced Thor would have a new look, but I was stoked when I saw his new duds. I think it's a brilliant design that works on every level. I also have enjoyed the way Olivier has drawn Thor's mug. It gives him a nice distinction that I try to capture when I draw this version.Markers, paint and color pencil

Wow, I really love this piece. Great pose and absoutely killer lighting. Your metal surfaces are awesome, and you've nailed the new costume design. That's some crazy lighting you've got going on in the background too! The God of Thunder would truly be proud!

Great piece man. One of my favorite books growing up was Simonson's run on Thor. I've always "seen" him as "that" Thor.
That said, I like the redesign. And you simply killed this piece. Awesome.

His new look is definitely a lot better than the older ones. Bare arms, sweat wristbands and blue sweat pants probably have everyone in Asgard laughing behind his back. Now he looks like a proper warrior of Asgard.
I still can't get on board with his helmet design though. It always looked to me like Thor needed a helmet for battle and ran into Toys R Us and picked up one from aisle 6. It needs something to make it look less like a beanie with wings in my opinion.
Thor kicks ass though as the drawing illustrates. I was pissed when they let Superman kick the hell out of him solo then it took 4 of the toughest Avengers to beat down Superman. Thor got the shaft in that story. (JLA/Avengers) WTB rematch written by neutral party.

The helmet is a tough one. It's easy to make it look silly since it's a fairly silly design, but it's become so recognized that it kind of works now. I suppose that could be said for a lot of super hero designs.

Very nice piece, Chris. I think that this is really a strong, effort (even by your standards). I'm not sure about the foreshortening on Thors right thigh, but it is really well composed and executed...

I agree on both fronts; I love his new outfit and Oliver has really made Thor his. It's hard to draw Thor without using Oliver's features.
