Sort of. Well, first of all, mare finally got a name to herself. We settled on the show name "Curiosity Killed The Cat" because it fits her to a T. You don't even wanna know the dumb shit she's gotten herself into the last days - and all of it because she couldn't keep her nose out of things that aren't her business!

As for a barn name, well - it's Garlic. At least for me. Rowan and Caro refuse to call her that, instead they use Lavender. The reason she has that name is.. a weird one.

But back to Garlic's training! We've actually been getting close to her first ride, having introduced her to a saddle just recently. As inconvenient as her love to be worked outside has been especially when you're treading around in shorts, it had the benefit of getting her full attention.

She's been pretty clear about liking a snaffle more than a rope halter, so that's what I've been going for the last sessions. And today we had our first sit! In the open field, but she was still pretty good.

I petted her on the left side of her neck, keeping her head bent around. It was still pretty early in the morning and I wasn't exactly looking to get yeeted.

Garlic just stuck her tounge out at me, another weird quirk of hers. I chuckled and finally swung my other leg over. Slowly and carefully sitting down in Bolts old saddle, I made sure her nose was still tipped.

Praising her, I slowly dismounted before leading her to a different place and mounting again. I repeated the same about two more times before tying the reins to the horn and switching to some liberty work.

Garlic relaxed beautifully as she stretched down, jogging around me in the fresh powder.
