Neat.Β Oh, how's the rest of the Nargacuga project going, it's been ages since the last update.

Good!
I've been re-doing a few things. I'm currently re-doing the wings, and getting ready to install a set of digital eyes into the head.
On that note... I might have to post a picture or gif of the digital eyes...
Here they are on the blue dragon head I built, a little while back. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvXprpβ¦
I'm demonstrating the light sensitivity, in that video.
On the Nargacuga, I'll have a few controls for things like rage mode. I'll probably be able to wink, too.
Basically, It's slow going, since I'm re-making a few things, but I think the final result will be a lot of fun.

That's something.Β I think I'm going to stick with basic or following resin eyes for now, but since I'll be branching out into the Pi and Arduino and various flavors of fun eventually, I should keep tabs on you.
I'm tempted to do Lagiacrus or Zinogre after I've done the Stan Winston courses and tinkered with a few other projects.Β Which would be better?
Oh, and do you have any recommendations on sewing machines?Β I've heard good things about Janome hardware and that Brother is okay if you don't cheap out, but that's about it.

One thing I've always wanted to work with a bit are mechanical control cables... I built a set of Nekomimi ears into my Narga, so the ears move, but if I could just figure out how to make a nice setup with a few linear actuators, I might be able to make some sort of crazy animatronic head, or something... That would be fun. Anyway, look into the Teensy, as well. Arduino and Pi systems can't run these eyes with a natural looking frame rate. The Teensy does a much better job than those two, for digital eyes.
My sewing machine is an old one, with metal gears and construction. I forgot the brand, but it works well.
I've heard more people talking about the Brother ones, but from what I know, the main thing is to avoid the cheap plastic ones, if possible.
Between those two, I think Zinogre would be really cool to see. It's tough to choose, though. They're both such cool monsters.

Hm.Β The more I know.Β I'd also probably have to go for a rigid or partially rigid head base if I decided to get fancy...I guess I'll just work with foam for the time being and get better with producing three-dimensional objects and sewing.
Yeah.Β Thankfully I didn't do in Aunt Claire's Singer when I borrowed it, but I had my fair share of bent and broken needles, snarled bobbins, and the thread escaping from the tensioner.Β It could manage two pieces of antipill or blizzard fleece, but that was it.Β A better machine is a must.
The Felyne Village shorts really work in Jin-Jin's favor and I do have the all-important Revoltech model...
