Description One Hundreth Deviation!!!! dundundun-dun-DUUUN!

I did something special this time. For you see, the actual concept behind this picture is based off a really old drawing I did when I was like...10 maybe I did lots of landscapes even back then...just in brightly-coloured crayon lol. And you will get to see that drawing, along with a progression list on how this was made, and wallpapers with it too later on

The concept itself is a little self-explainitory, along the lines of my "Golden gates of Hell", but the two weren't intended to be part of a series. The struggle between good and evil, happiness and sorrow, life and death, yin and yan...uuuugh - Coke and Pepsi even Of course, I didn't really consider how important original concpets were back when I was 10, this idea was really just a fluke, and I still think the original drawing is above the standards for the typical kid that age anyway, so when you see it, don't laugh at the lopesided mountain
You can see the original art, the progression on how this was created, and wallpapers of it at Force of Nature: progression

This here is my first proper attempt at Matte-painting too! since that's a feild I would really love to get into. For those who are unaware, matte painting is a digital landscaping form that uses a mix of digital painting, photo-manipulation, and sometimes 3D all together to try and get a dramatic, yet realistic result. Photo's were kept to a minimum here, most major areas were heavily manipulated from Vue scenes, and those renders were treated as the "photo's" that matte painters use. Anyway, anything important that I havn't said here, will be under the progression/wallpapers submission later anyway

Oh, and as you can imagine...this took an insane amount of time to do, probably the most time-consuming one so far...I just wanted to make a grand 100th stand...newcomers, be sure to check out the rest of my gallery too!
Critiques are still allowed, I probably won't change this, but all ideas will be kept for next time

EDIT: technically it is no longer the 100th in line but like, 80 or so as I have scrapped some older works. But it was 100 at the time of submission, so yeah

This looks so much like a drawing I made for a song of mine I did in Magix Music Maker in 2001. The song was called: "The Sun is Shining" and I had it on tape at the time. I don't have the song anymore and the drawing's gone too. Such a pitty. One thing I have to point out: yours looks a thousand times better than mine did, haha. Cheers!

This one sums up the main theme of my gallery quite well, and always has - especially since this was based off a draw I did over a decade ago

Hi there, fellow deviant!
If you have ever searched for your own username on google, you might have noticed a youtube video poping up as a result. This video I created about half a year ago. I wanted to have some pictures for the music I wanted to share, so I searched for pictures here on DeviantArt and found your picture fitting.
What I didn't care for at the time was that I was using someone elses art without asking them. I guess I thought nobody would ever notice my video anyways. But now, when my video reached over 3 thousand views, and one of the deviants whom's art I had taken without permission noticed my video, I started realizing I was actually STEALING art and photos from incredibly tallented people, that knew nothing at all about this! So now, I'm sending this message to all deviants who's art I have used, and now I will ask honestly, is it ok if I keep and use this devitation of yours in my movie?

My humblest apologies// MayRoseDolly

Normally I don't like my work being used in youtube videos, especially without permission.

But they aren't the worst thing that can happen. I'll be fine with it so long as you mention my name, the copyrights etc and link to my gallery too for credibility on my behalf.

MayRoseDolly In reply to Chromattix [2011-10-17 17:54:23 +0000 UTC]

I am very sorry, once again, that I did not ask for your permission. I know I should have done it before I put the created the video, but I thought it'd be better that I ask now rather than never.

I have mentioned your name and the name of the devitation in the description of the video, I have also said none of the pictures bellong to me (the copyrights), and I will put a link to your gallery in the description right away.

I had done some research for my postgraduate studies - we had to do a creative on climate change and philosophy and I looked around for styles and ideas and things. Funny how I usually find the artist in some other way quite some time later. It's an amazing piece!

On Deviant Art I just never checked the rest of your profile out, and I'd say that is because I was doing my assignment and didn't want to get sidetracked. I have a VERY good procrastination ability.
