i know almost all the dinosaurs in the movie but this one and the black amphibious creature that tried to swallow Aladar as an egg.

If the animal was still around, I think it would look like this in my opinion. I loved Dinosaur as a kid, just for the realistic dinosaurs, but even then the story was.....meh. Plus the Iguanadons just look weird.

Also I think the plot shouldve been about just aladar and one lemur going on adventures in various environments across prehistoric America, rather than a bland desert? And better yet not having them speak and let it be like walking with dinosaurs

Nah, the film was not intended as a documentary. It was fine for the targeted audience for the thing it strived to do, and I think it did that pretty damn well.
Though I agree that several environments would be more interesting than a bland desert.

I remember this little guy, so cute! You know, when this movie came out to theaters, I cried my eyes out to see it the very next day. I was already upset because I couldn't see it the day it was released! CX
