She's a beauty! Why is she non-releasable though That's sad!

She was kept illegally as a pet when she was younger (now imprinted) and fed a diet of dog food, which led to weak bones and brittle feathers. Unfortunately, this happens often; we recently received a barn owl in the same condition from the same type of situation. The kestrel, however, is now doing well as a public education bird in presentations at the center, and since she's imprinted, I think she likes being around the people.

That's so sad I'm glad she is in good hands now!

She looks very smooth, you really took a nice shot.
The lighting is great, keep on the good work (and keep giving news about her ).

Thank you. Now all of her feathers are grown in and she's even flying around a little bit.

Thank you, she's a pretty bird. She looks much better now that her adult plumage has come in; she was kept illegally as a pet when she was younger and almost all of her feathers were broken or brittle because of her poor diet.
