Description A young male Northern Harrier in flight hunting. Drawn from my own reference photo. I watched this bird for several months. He always hunted at the same field and would use the cows as a 'shield' to prevent the prey from spotting him. He flew low across the field like NOHA usually do, but he would get in really close to the cows. Then he would *pop* over a cow really fast, swoop down, and grab whatever he was after. The grass was too thick to tell what he had caught, but he would sometimes eat it right there and you could see his head ducking down and coming back up with pieces of flesh.

I wasn't able to use a scanner for this one, so the quality isn't as good.

Thank you, this one was of my favorite sketches to do since I had such fun watching this particular bird in real life.
