This is too wonderful, especially the deep, pondering look on his face. Be careful, don't trip over Yorick...

True, but I still prefer the Branagh version. Mainly because he made the gargantuan effort to put the entire play on the screen. He made for quite a good Hamlet too, of course, even though he was a touch too old to be entirely believable.

I love Hamlet! He is one of my favorite heros, and I always can sympathize with him. I have watched the Kennith Branagh film so many times that I have memorized almost all of the lines.
Get thee to a Nunnery!

Wow, I love the fact that you know the skull! Not many people knew it was poor yorick the court jester even though they all use the skull in hamlet pieces. I like your painting very much other than him being on the older side. But I assume you are doing it from the movie, in which case I understand I would not entrust the roll of hamlet to a younger boy the movie would have been horrible. This was my favorite outfit of his I loved his jacket. and I really love the detail on the collar.

Ah, Hamlet! If only the books my English teacher handed out to us contained such charming illustrations. I'd have been a lot more interested.
I especially enjoy how you've somehow managed to give his jacket a velvety texture with watercolor.

I can't stand him (Branagh) as an actor, and I think he was too old to play Hamlet, but that interpretation was probably my favourite (followed closely by the Ethan Hawke version). Excellent deviation, I love the colours and the lines. Especially the shape of the nose. You've captured the costume wonderfully.
