This is basic stuff, so if you're pretty familiar with Ps, you might wanna skip this one. If you are interested in the line art I would be happy to provide you with a hi-rez file and you're welcome to color and post. Adobe Illustrator FTW! You could use Ps also or whatever you like. For this kind of semi-technical drawing I just score a nice image off the net and start with the tracing. That's right, I said tracing. For this one I used a heavy line for the "major" parts and outlines and a really light line for contours and whatever so that when I went in to start rendering I knew where stuff was supposed to go but the line doesn't really stand out in the finished product. These gun projects are supposed to be fast and fun and not overly complicated, so whatever I can do to save time on the tedious stuff (like line work) I'll do it. If you have any questions about Ai, feel free to ask.

thanks, but Ai is a tad expensive, seeing as I don't have an income source of my own, but thanks anyways. I can just point a camera at a drawing when I need one updated. Methinks I'll keep these faved anyways, in case my mind changes.

I can understand that. There are less expensive options and some free too. It's just a matter of making them do what you want them to.

go for it. the sooner you learn, the sooner you can start having fun with it. I'm also trying to talk a couple of the gun group founders into putting on a contest, so I hope that this tutorial helps people enter more contest and win more stuff!
