Surely there is no other DA artist who can depict the neck as gracefully as Claire...

I think so. I have been drawing knees while studying at the Sorbonne. Since this period,, I'm no more obsessed by knees: there are parts of the human body widely as interzesting as knees...... I have drawn yours , but from the back of the knee. ( in french :jarret).

That's simple! I'm the queen of the necks, and sometimes, knees...

Your Visages are also very much in the same
league as your necks... I assume that you are besieged
by family and friends for portraiture!

You are wrong! My daughter was the only one asking for her children's portraits ( what I did). I have been ordered portraits by friends or acquaintances.
I drew Anaïs for her parents had asked for it. I have drawn " David the golden kid" for my friend Ron Akehurst, the "femme à la fenêtre" for my sister Jacqueline, Christophe Colomb - you love so much - and you yourself, for me! Rebecca is really the only one I have drawn with pleasure. I would be so glad to sit in front of her and draw her "alive"! She holds a special place in my mind. But you know that....
I don't consider "american friend in situ" as a portrait, but I have some sketches of your face, the last in front of the sea..and I have tortured a hundred times
my first drawing of "Dark Sidney"...

Well then! If your family has not besieged you with requests
or commissions, I shan't be shy about asking for more of Rebecca!
- But truly -- what you have already done of her is so wonderful, that I would feel
very greedy and guilty to ask for more! ....about others, I will ask via a note,
such as of Suzanne or David...perhaps in the future....

It will never be boring to draw Rebecca. You know that. I have a special link with her, even though she's unconscious of that. Probably for you are so close to her. I'm working to the painting
"Rebecca sitting on a pink blanket". I plan to exhibit it.
Have you some (left..) profile of Suzanne? And David? Do you need a tryptique?!!!! I'm expecting your note...
I would be very pleased if you could take my recent Carracci/ drawing and treat it digitaly, in order to obtain the same effect (skin) you got with your"Neoclassical " I admire so much? Can you?

Yes, I know that you have a special affection/connection to Rebecca,
perhaps because she is such a gentle & shy person
- evident somehow from her photos, and certainly that is evident from your art
of her...
I will plan on finding a few good photos of Suzanne & David for you to consider.
Your Carracci is somewhat untouchable...more re that later....
I am attracted to the idea of that pose, however...

" My"Carracci isn't intouchable! What idea! If you can handle it with your magic tool, do it!
You are attached to that pose? What pose? The one you plan to change the position of the arm?

C'est surtout la rapidité du crayonné qui rend ce croquis intéressant. Tout est dit en quelques coups de sanguine.

I tried to make my best with the neck/cheek, but i must confess that I only spent 3 minutes on the hand!( and only for my grand son asked for it: she's his girl friend)

The delicate lines of the graceful neck and cheek are especially admirable...and, its a very nice touch of blue
that matches the beige skin tones (at least on my poor computer screen...)...I will try this on a few other displays today... more...

" Anaïs" must be written with a dieresis on the "i", in French.
