Description I saw this train coming west from the station in West Chicago with... OMG... 6 units on the lead. Then as I got closer I realized the back 3 were in new paint and as they passed I discovered they were shut down. Three sequentially numbered C45ACCTE's.

Joe got a shot of some of this same series. See [link]

Nice shot Chris .. I also (when I happen to be fortunate enough and be in the right place) like catching new power fresh out of the gate so to speak.

And I've never been able to even come close to keeping GE's model designations straight for at least 10 years or more, newer EMD's are easier for me to keep track of. The older stuff (EMD, GE, ALCO, BLW etc.) is no problem at all.

It also looks as though the three newbies at the back were facing the other way to the lead 3 locomotives. I've yet to see a delivery run of anything by rail.

Yes they are facing back... but that's not uncommon. Check out [link]

It is interesting to see new power deliveries with all the locos being put into storage.

Looks like some sort of modified GE, that's all I got.

It's always an awesome sight when a railroad takes delivery of new power on it's own traction and rails.
