Oil cooler, I'm pretty sure later models replaced that tube shape with a box design matching the water radiator under the other wing...

Yes, and I think they needed more oil cooling as the power of the Merlin was increased....

made it quite hard to differentiate a frontal or a back profile view... looks much like the 109 in those views...

Love that one, maybe i use at a draw reference one time ? That`s a Mk Vb Troop spit.

That Large belly air intake contains a big sand filter, on the real version. After what i`ve learned some have removed the big sand filters and replaced them with a smaller to increase performance on thoose spit troops, which flyes today. But still it looks like that one !

Yep, it's a Vc trop, not a Vb though:

'A' Wing: 8 x machine guns
'B' Wing: 2 x cannons and 4 x machine guns
'C' Wing: 4 x cannons, but could be changed to 'A' or 'B' spec
'D' Wing: No guns

Standard armament for the 'C' Wing was 2x 20mm Cannons and 4x .303 MGs (in other words a 'B' Wing, although equipped with 'B' Wing armament the 'C' Wing had extra ammo for the 20mms)

It was rare to see a 'C' Wing with 4x20mms, although the South African Air Force's Vcs were all 4 cannoned armed
