Hah, I just read the wiki article on the Ta-154 and the He-219 - I hadn't realised how much in-fighting was going on between the aircraft manufacturers at the time - I guess it was lucky for the Allies that they didn't pull together and turn out loads of He-219s as we would have lost a lot more bombers - but you are right though, the Ta-154 Moskito was a bit of a dud - the prototype was very fast, but loaded up with guns and radar, not so good...

, well at least you know now at least how much competition was between the two sides in creating better aircraft than the other. Yeh it is otherwise it might turn out to be such an icon as it is now . Good recognition though by the germans to realise that they were outclassed by the wooden wonder
