Description So the dragon moreso resembles a dinosaur, turns out. Well. Hey. Guess he's a DinoRider, huh? HAHAHA Whatever... One day I'll get a wacom tablet, and all of my drawings will suddenly get backgrounds. until that day, they are warriors of the Antartic.

tablet will destroy that old-fashioned, magical way you draw.
everything will be plastic, naive and childlish.
BTW artcic is a kinda good idea!

excellent rendering, if a bit too dark for my tastes. It really reflects the amount of effort you put into it, love all the cross hatching effects... Keep up the good work

Great stuff.
Your work reminds me of the sketches I see in the J.R.R Tolkien Books (about the lands and creatures etc).

I especially love the fact that your drawings are always smooth and justified on the edges

ok..i love the drawing and its concept..i just have maybe a few suggestions ...if thast ok...i hope it is...ok...well if hes riding on a dragon...high up from the ground like that shouldnt he have a longer sword as to have longer reach?...i mean im no medieval military strategist..lol.im just askin...but other than that miniscule thingie..i avsolutely adore this drawing ..especially the blanket thing with the skull on it..great detail...looks sketchy but great detail

Heh heh yeah... I was actually thinking about what kinda weapon he was going to have. The logical thing would have been to carry a poleaxe or a lance or something that could actually have some reach.... But, well, um... He's just that good, I guess. (This is my lame excuse for today) As for the blanket, I was getting a little tired of doing the glyphs like I do on the other stuff... so I guess he's a pirate tool... Thanks for the comment- I don't mind criticism at all! (If that's even a criticism.. oh well. Dinner's calling me)

sigh..... Have you considered going into illustration? It certainly seems to me that you have what it takes, style ....form, talent, and patience... What can I say.....that hasn't already been said.

Oh my! Quite loverly! A job to be commended on to be sure What are these infamous Micron pens everyone speaks of, and where can I obtain them? And where are my pantaloons?

ClearHarm In reply to kid-av [2003-11-19 17:25:06 +0000 UTC]

Micron pens are just very fine-pointed inking pens- you can find them at most art stores or hobby shops. At the store I go to they keep them in the scrap-booking section, so they may be tricky to find. Your pantaloons, however, we sold on ebay yesterday,...

wow, this oddly reminds me of dinotopia ^^ i think the only reason it looks like a dragon is because it doesn't have wings and the arms resemble those of a t-rex. the detail still rules! i can't wait till you get a tablet! i want to see your works with a background. i bet it would look great! you know what your art would look great in? an rpg, but maybe that's just me. they really fit an RPG, for reals.

As always, thanks for the comments! I might be able to swipe my friends Mac for a while and do some bg art on there... he's offered, but I've spent most of my time just on the characters themselves. Actually, I'm plotting on doing some work for some RPG books. The problem lies with contacts, as I do not have any friends (that I know of) in the business. I'm going to a convention the 29th to hopefully meet some people. I'm also using my DA page as a way for contacts to check out my stuff... I really would like to do some freelance work for a RPG publisher. Maybe someday...

Wait, so is this mouse, or another tablet brand? If it's mouse, damn good job on it.

I'm not sure I understand the question...So far, all I've done is by hand with Micron pens and regular pencils... I currently use a mouse for editing my pictures on photoshop, and wacom is a pen utility that I don't have... hopefully that answers it?

-tai- In reply to ClearHarm [2003-11-19 08:15:17 +0000 UTC]

Ah, well you should know many people (partially myself in some ways >_> are very capable with a mouse, and could do something like this with one. ^^; Sorry for the confusion then.
