Description this took forever. not because of the detail. because i'm a big dumb lazy animal.
i have my qualms, but overall, i think its ok... had to wrestle with the scanner to pick up everything, which still didnt happen. ah, oh well.

Holy @%#$ that's kickass. The detail is beautiful, and it's like you can see the action happening even though it's not moving. The lighting and shading are perfect. I love how you did the Mage/Wizard's magic. Very awesome. Great work ^^

Awesome dragon! A lot of things going on in this pic, which is good, you've handled the action very well. Nicely done!!

After sitting about so long waiting for some new art from you I must say I got what I was waiting for.
This is amazing, like all your stuff and it just renders me speechless every time to look at what you make. It's just, wow.
Your dragons are different in design from the ones I've seen previously, and the wing design is the most original thing I have ever seen on a dragon (not kidding).

It's nice to have you back on dev.

I have a question though. How do you got the light areas so light? Do you use pencil, or some sort of different pen shade? Or do you just make your dark areas really really dark?

basically, i use one pen for all my shading, and a "brush"-tipped pen for all my heavy dark areas. The really light stuff i probably only hatched over maybe a few times, but the darker i would hatch over several times. I also apply more pressure to the darker areas, and go a little slower for the ink to sink in. the lighter is really quick, gentle lines.... also, my scanner makes things lighter than they really are. i had a hard time balancing this one....

thanks for the comments as always

Glad to see you got something new done. It looks great. I want to see the original sometime. Nice job, but what is going on with the tail/cave?

Dude, I almost forgot you kick ass. This is freakin nice. I love the form of the wings. In a way, they look constructed like nets of layers of skin. Its eye catching and looks pretty spiffy. I love the wholle action scene here.
Except you titled the picture ambushed. But truly I cant tell which one is be ambushed considerinf those tiny arrows dont look strong enough to make the dragon pull away. Also the men look pretty relaxed and aren't freaked out yet about that huge dragon thats about to rip their guts apart. I expect the dragon's gonna wun but the guy on the right (the captain) looks pretty calm about it. Perhaps I'm thinking about the way I draw, but you put a nice piece of work together here.

Truly, I love the way the dragons look. they look awesome. I love your shading style and the anatomy herer looks crazy. I wonder how those legs would look in action. I think they would work, and it would look mad crazy if animated.

i have a dragon i'm working on I think you will enjoy as well.... when i'll finish, no one knows... but i'll make sure i post it on here when I do

-by the way, are you doing anything professionally with your art?

Dragonssssss....

no, nothing yet. I live in a small town near Rome full of closed-mind people and so, if I want to look for some jobs I should move in another town. and what's more, i'm 18 but people think I'm younger, like 14-15 , and so they don't take me seriously most of the times....
I hope to do something that I'll be proud of in the future....

and you?

currently, i want to do something with my art. i'm not sure what. i was thinking about illustrating for roleplaying books, or maybe video game design. game design would require college, which i've put on the "no" list for now... honestly, i don't know if i have the variety or am the caliber RPG book publishers are looking for. anyhoo, i'm going to put together a portfolio here soon and get moving. i'm sick of cleaning things

Woot! Ive been waiting for something new from you, and i can see it was well worth the wait. The detail in this is delicious. The overall movement of it catch the eye, and i love the action that can be experienced by looking at it. So much to look at! And the wings are amazing! Brill!
