Description For me the leaf represents the natural world, since plants are the foundation for all organic life. Close to one inch across, thread is meant to be tied through the two holes, over the stem.

My original design, I carve the pattern out of wax then I turn it into bronze using the "lost wax casting method". This alloy is ancient bronze (90Cu:10Sn), I melt, alloy and cast the bronze myself, this bronze is very tough much harder then silver. I gave it a dark patina to bring out the details and make it look antique.

Bronze is a warm organic metal, and as such it will take on a warm unique organic patina depending on how it is worn.

have you tried brass??

I tried it the other day, but the zinc combusted instead of melting in the copper... I don't know what I did wrong, do you know anything about that? (by the way, I'm totally aware of the toxicity of zinc vapors)

also, this is an awesome piece, I love your casting work

lol cool glad I don't have to warn you about zinc fumes. I hate zinc as an alloy its evil You would almost have to use a non-flammable inert vapour shield like argon for casting zinc brass, last time I tried I was ok until I uncovered my crucible oven then I had about 6 inches of pretty green fireworks shooting out of my crucible. Other then inert gass only thing to try is a reducing flame and lowest casting heat possible, lot of jewellers use a torch and a shallow crucible to cast with they use a reducing flame and always keep the flame on the melt even when pouring. And tyvm
