Ohmygoshohmygosh, this is absolutely gorgeous!

I don't even know where to start on this one. Rena looks amazing in your style (can't stop looking at her hair), you've managed to catch the more sultry/alluring side to her personality (which I've yet been able to do) so, so well and yet have it seem graceful and artful at the same time. There's something about the composition in this one that's just so striking. I love the bold colours and outlines you used, and it really shines with the movement in the pose and overall composition you've used.Β

Thank you so much for this, this was totally worth the wait. I'm so sorry for taking a while on your trade too (IT'S ON THE WAY I SWEAR).

Did you notice the Moroccan colour palette?

Well, I am thrilled (relieved) that you're so happy with this. When dealing with someone else's babies you never know if you're going to get it right and I am so happy that I understood this one.

Once again, I apologize for the wait. And no worries, you did keep in the loop and so I am aware that you were kept perhaps even busier than I!

Oh gosh, I didn't at first, but when I did though *mindsplosion* I'll be honest, to know that you've incorporated some minor detail like that makes me really happy.

I absolutely agree with that. It's probably one of the most nerve-wracking things is wondering if what you've done was in character. Lol sometimes I feel like I nag with questions just to get a general feel on a character.

That's totally no problem at all, it really was worth it. Well, life has its ways of throwing curveballs and whatnot. I guess I'm generally out of the woods, and I do hope things are going well with you too!

Graceful indeed...She looks very pretty. Amazing flow of the curves. I find it interesting how the background shapes flow so well with the foreground. It's great to see so many pictures from you. AND IN COLOR!Β

I tried to get some stuff done while my scanner was buried.

And thank you very muchly. I hope the recipient enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it.

I really love the way the pose. I think you did a great job capturing the yoga pose and conveying a degree of flexibility. I can also see the outstretched arm in the foreground working perfectly as a counter balance for the body weight.

As with your previous piece, I'm also astounded by the colouring, especially on the skin. I love the use of different shades to help convey the detail and anatomy of the skin. The same also goes for the shading on her clothes but I feel my eyes are drawn a tad more to the skin. Speaking of colours I also greatly like the way you've used it on the background, especially the red droplets. The curve is nicely done and I think the choice of colour works very well.

Also this piece gets an extra  for referencing the word coffee. I appreciate it's in the other artist's name but I love coffee

Who doesn't love coffee? It's my favorite way to start the day.

Thank you. I'm still getting a grip on how to best use these darn markers. I find the chisel tips feel too much like markers, while the brush tip handles a lot like a paint brush.

I know a few bizarre people who don't . And same. I tend to have my first cup as soon as I get into work, so it incentivses me to get in as swiftly as possible.

And you're welcome . Out of interest which tips did you primarily use on this piece or were you switching so much it would be hard to say?

In this one it was the chisel tips mostly. They have a softer ink flow but, as you can see, are very obvious. They have that OMG MAHRK3RS!!!! texture. I used the brush tips on her hair and her face and the little balls of red.

I think I'll have to find a way to say "OMG MAHRK3RS!!!!" in a future piece

I've found the chisel tip to be a bit temperamental and difficult to use myself (i.e. it colours more than I wanted), but I put it down more to lack of practice than anything else. I don't think I ever mentioned this but when I was painting a piece I was working on back in school my right hand shook more and more violently the more I coloured it and thus had less space to fill. I think it got to the point where other students could visibly see it shaking.

Looking at the hair again I really do like the detail you've done on it and the various strokes of the darker shade of red.

HAHA, sorry... sometimes I drop down to l33t/lolzcat speak to highlight with goofy gusto.

You have shared that story before. I have an exercise for you, as I think the problem is you're stressing yourself out with worry. I say this because when I am inking faces, I sometimes get to that point. My hand doesn't do what I want it to because I do not hold or move the pen with the same confidence (read worry-free) as I do a pencil. I worry too much that the slightest misstep will ruin the piece and then it sort of self-fulfills. So I find ways to relax and just let it go. You need to relax.

So my exercise is just let. your. hand. go. Draw on larger paper when ever you can. Allow yourself the permission, the freedom, to move. To make mistakes. It's OKAY.

Ahh it's fine . Although it takes me back... I can't remember the last time I used "l33t" speech.

And speaking of getting old, my memory must be going

I'll admit I don't use as much of the paper as I'd like. When I drew the traditional Mewrah picture for this month, there was a good 1/5 of blank space below the picture and it annoyed me I didn't put anything down there. I considered re-drawing the entire picture from scratch but felt the results wouldn't be as good if I did. I will aim to use up more of it in the future, and acquire larger paper for the future.

She does indeed look graceful, and enviably flexible...she makes it look so effortless, I kind of feel like she's almost rubbing it in our faces "look what I can do, unflexible people" *bends legs over shoulders*
Once again, great bold colours, I love that vibrant red swish, what a great complimentary backgroundΒ

And she does it all while retrieving satellite codes and uncovering offshore bank accounts. She's an international woman of mystery!

Thank you.

Ah ha ha.

Thanks. I did this with copic markers actually, but am trying different things with the tips to see what effects I can get out of them. I'm sorry if the composition is distracting. I will keep that in mind next time.

Great art trade- and such a challenging pose too! I love the bold colours, the background reminds me of pop art too. I love the shading on her hair.
