I like it, but if you don't mind me asking why is it called Navajo? The colors are similar to some of the tribes work.Β

Wow. The craftsmanship here is just breathtaking. Do you have... well, a blueprint for things like this or do you just go with it?

I was inspired by the works of Suprematism and I just went with it on the thumbnails. Lots of thumbnails. Once I got the composition right, I took it to larger sketches and added color to get a direction for the final piece. Once those were nailed down, the final step was a full rough in Photoshop, printed it off and started to work on the final painting.

I love how the shapes are wildly interacting, but at the same time they are in perfect harmony with one another's position in the composition. I also love the kind of sketchy painting style you used, as it gives the piece a real classical feel. Love the work!

Yes, this is a photography. I took about 20 different pictures of it till I got a close match to the real thing.
