While Aroha does not have a necessarily slender figure, she's better described as solid. Her hair is usually found in twin buns on either side of her head to emulate her ears in pokemon form, with the rest hanging freely against her back.

The darker marknings she has a lapras appear as patchy birthmarks all over her body. She makes a point of avoiding blue clothing due to the fact that she feels her hair is blue enough on it's own, and trends more towards collared shirts and sweaters ranging from white to greys to blacks, mostly matching her shell in pokemon form. She rarely wears skirts or dresses but will when the need arises.

Aroha's nothing if not eager, both in her work relationships and her personal relationships. She is very prone to putting down whatever it is she is doing in order to help those she cares for, almost to a worrying degree, and sometimes may need someone to intervene before she overworks herself. She's under the impression that she can help anyone with whatever they may need, and if they ask (no matter if it's real or a sob story) she will volunteer for the job no matter what. More often than not this ends up being her collegue's paperwork.

While it sounds like her need to please would make her a poor cop, it only strengthens her dedication to her line of work. Aroha is incredibly dedicated to her work as a detective, and is infamous for working day in and day out to make sure justice is properly served. Due to spending so long apart from her original lapras herd she tends to be a bit more amenable to doing things for people she considers amily, and can even be referred to as doting at times, feeding into her eager to please behaviour.

History--

  Aroha was found as a young Lapras on Valentines Day, stranded on the strip of beach connecting Cyllage and Ambrette. Noting the particular lack of pod or family to call her own, she was taken to the Ambrette Aquarium for rehabilitation and recovery following an emergency trip to the Pokemon Center.

  Two years passed and it was clear to the center that Aroha was ready to be released back out into the wild, she'd recovered well and seemed to be strong enough to take care of herself.

  Once they'd settled into the wild, the still young pokemon found adapting quite difficult- years of being hand reared and cared for had taken their toll on her. She wasn't able to head inland thanks to her flippers, and the ocean itself still had a wide variety of it's own threats.. but that was when she had met a That was when news reached her of Amie Co. and a device that could give her a human form. With the help of a passing pokehuman named Winston, an at the time member of the Snowbelle Police department that had taken pity on the young thing, he helped her acquire one of her own and took her in.

  Aroha's want to help others and her dutiful nature lead her to finding work in the police force after taking her time to observe the people in the city and get a better grasp on what it was they did- the cops protected, they served the people and they always did what they could for the common citizen,something her natural instincts as a lapras could appreciate. Winston had been apprehensive at the time she expressed her interest, but once again, he aided his adoptive sister with the necessary paperwork, and With the added help of the now defunct Ursa Ring (though she didn't join the group officially) she was able to enroll in the Police academy. Once she'd graduated, she joined Lumiose PD's ranks, eventually becoming a detective.

--Umbral Pokemon--
  During a routine patrol around Shalour, Aroha stumbled across a small group of people, the way they were acting came across as strange to the Lapras. Investigating and trying to get them to disperse turned out to be a bad idea, they over powered and knocked her out.

  She awoke some time later in Hoenn, under the control of the leader of the shadow pokemon. Due to her status as a police officer she was made to be an Umbral. Now determined to come back for the coworkers she's put so much trust in, Aroha's goal is to make sure they can be a ~*BIG FAMILY*~ once more, no matter the cost.

--Recovery--
While now back to her normal self, the time Aroha spent as an Umbral has done a number on her psyche. Though she was able to mostly recover from the ordeal, her life in Lumiose had its very foundation rocked, and she's currently trying to rebuild and regain her confidence as an individual and an officer

Due to several accidents and a bit of bad luck, the joints in Aroha's left hand are moderately damaged making it difficult for her to grip properly

Relationships--

Winston: Brotherdad. Landing himself somwhere between the classification of dad and brother after all they've been through together, Winston is her longtime confidant and friend. While he initially tried to convince her to pursue something other than law enforcement, Aroha understands that it was because he was worried about her wellbeing. She values his opinion over most else, though sometimes she can get a little annoyed at his insistance that she takes a desk job instead of continuing out in the field.

Tommy: The longtime companion. these two first met as playmates in Ambrette, with Tommy being brought down from the research lab to keep her company in their youth. Though they were seperated not long afterwards, the two managed to immediately reconnect as adults when they found one another at the LPD, their friendship (and then some) stronger than ever. They dated for a while but after her ordeal with the Shadow pokemon, have called it quits.

Mason: The boss. Someone that Aroha is both in awe of and terrified of, even after getting to know him a bit better over the last couple years. Mason is a very nice man and a merciful boss and please don't get mad sir I am trying my best I am so sorry oh oh god you're not mad at me okay I- no that's fine.

Reus: Aroha's had nothing but respect for Reus since the day she started as a detective. What used to be a fierce admiration and a need to both prove herself as a useful partner and benifical member of the team has given way to a much more quiet respect for him and his abilities- less hero worship more being equals. Over the last couple years she's grown into her confidence as a detective but it is not uncommon for her to still seek out her senior for advice.

Benihana: If she ever had siblings, Aroha is relatively sure they would be like Benny. The two of them have trouble communicating at times and the Lapras finds the mudfish very overwhelming to deal with. While not necessarily frustrating, it can caus friction at times. As long as their conversation topic is not work related, however, they get along very well and have been known to go on snack runs together.

Bo: Did not know he had a crush on her. Still is moderately unsure if he had a crush on her. She thinks he's cute in a puppy kind of way? This is her partners kid, right? He's interesting that,s for sure. Could do with some character building but not.. bad.. Doesn't like that he yells at everyone.

She dreams of her small hands clasped in the larger hands of her parents as they swung her off the ground- high pitched laughter and squealing as she fled from the incoming waves.

That was probably part of the problem with this particular dream, it always started out happy. Going through the motions of familiar week long trips to Argelès Plage, where she would proudly show off sand dollars and starfish to her mother before carefully putting them back where she found them.

Dreams of buckets and shovels and crude sandcastles, of splashing and burying Gustav in the sand as he quietly accepts his fate because yes he had joined them a couple times and yes, he would have to go along with whatever she wanted.

Dreams of the crash of waves and horror as she’s lifted off the ground.
