Entry for Round 5 of the #CrystalChampionships

Vron smiled, sinking her feet into the cool waters of the Den’s lake. This took her back- she wished she could play her saxophone, but she'd left it with her sister. She grinned as familiar flashes of blue pokemon streaked under the surface- as Hydra peered over the surface and called excitedly to her brothers and sisters. Vron grinned as the first dratini chanced a peek, and on seeing Hydra, it squeaked excitedly, which draw the others up.

Another family reunion was taking place now, and Vron grinned as her pokemon nuzzled her kin one by one.

Kaan- who Vron had found clinging to one cave wall nervously – was sitting beside her. Eyes wide and terrified. “Oh Arceus…” the boy whimpered, his wide blue eyes streaking about, following each pokemon, while his Frillish, Marshmellow, watched calmly from her perch atop his head.

“Don’t worry, they’re not hear to battle.” Vron tried to comfort him, but it only made Kaan seem to panic more.

“I-If not to battle- then what? To eat us?” he gasped, trying to creep back as a dratini spotted him and started to wriggle out of the water.

Vron’s mouth twisted as she tried to stop herself from laughing, “I think she’s more interested in the sandwich poking out of your pocket."

“Huh?” Kaan asked, glancing down and grabbing the sandwich, to which the dratini cooed and stretched, trying to reach it. Kaan laughed nervously and held out the sandwich.

Vron smiled as the tiniest dratini nibbled on the sandwich- and tried to ignore the dark looming shadow out beyond some rocks… For now, she didn't want to the think about the name in her pocket, or the bandanna she had to protect. No, right now, she just wanted to enjoy this moment
