Oh wow, this is definitely off the beaten path. If I didn't know any better, I'd guess you braved an old 4x4 track out to a certain route near the LCR. The river definitely looks straight enough to match the area. This is such as epic spot to see this kind of weather. Beautifully dramatic clouds and great view down-river. I bet it was wild to witness in person!

A wonderful spot. Seems to be that I was able to find it in Google:Earth. Sadly it seems inaccessible with a 2WD. I envy you for your opportunities!
