Description I thought it was about time to finally show what the scheme of my army is going to look like when I get the other models of my army done.

This battle brother belongs to my Captains command squad. Not to sure how the transfer for on his shoulder pauldron came out... but it definitely looks better then the hand painted one I used to have there.

Black Templars?

Nope.

A custom Chapter of mine that borrowed the Templar's iconography.

Thanks!

No, I'm afraid I don't have any Space Wolves at the moment. But I had thought about them from time to time.

you could always paint over the transfers to #1 lock them in place and correct them if needed and #2 it wont look like a transfer but a freehanded icon

i like the color scheme... do you have some fluff to go with your army?

I actually did that on this one, believe it or not. But for some reason the blasted middle of the cross refused to lie flat.

I did have a little back story for the army I'd been cooking up. If you want I'll post it up some time.

if your using a transfer try cutting away in the recesses of the image as well... like the ultramarine symbol. try cutting a line into the U to make it able to adapt to the shape of the shoulderpad..

and sure... lemme read that story

i got the background of my army in my most recent journal entry on my profile

Hey I recently painted one like that. Though he's mostly blue with silver and gold tints. Like yours better though

Ow please tell me how you got the helmet to look almost pure white and how you highlighted all the white (I want my vengard squad to have white helms, too epic to miss).

Certainly! (sorry for the late reply, by the way. )

First, start out with a base coat of Calthan Brown foundation paint. After it's dry, apply a wash or two of Badab Black and make sure it gets in all the details. Once the wash is done drying, build up the raised areas with mixes of Calthan Brown and Bleached Bone, slowly working up to pure Bleached Bone. (I'd do a total of 3 stages. 1 CB/1 BB, 1 CB/ 2 BB, then straight BB. However you could do more if you wanted to get an even smoother transition.) From there it's just a matter of highlighting the edges with watered Skull White. And you're good!
