Description Why I colored this photo should be obvious. I have never seen a soldier with more than two cuff titles, and I though, especially with all the medals and ribbons, that this would make a challenge for me. And make a challenge it did. I found photos of his Soldbuch, which detailed his awards, and proved that most, if not all, were correct. From what I can gather, he was involved in the Luftwaffe during the Anschluss and the Annexation of the Sudetenland before the war, as well as serving in the Spanish Civil War in favor of the Fascist Dictator Francesco Franco. During the war, he earned his Glider Pilot's Badge, most likely during the Polish Campaign. His awards record shows a gap between 1939 to 1942, where he begins flying fighters. I believe that he flew in Africa, before being transferred to Geschwader Horst-Wessel. He was wounded once, and, by the end of the war, had flown over 300 combat missions.

Undated - Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klasse in Silber (War Merit Badge Second Class in Silver)
October 1st, 1937 - Flugzeugfuehrerabzeichen (Pilot's Badge)
October 1st, 1938 - Erinnerungsmedaille Östereich (Anschluss Medal)

January 21st, 1943 - Frontflugspange fur Jäger in Silber (Front Flying Claps for Fighter in Silver - 60 Missions)
February 13th, 1943 - Eisernen Kreuz II Klasse (Iron Cross Second Class)
April 28th, 1943 - Frontflugspange fur Jäger in Gold (Front Flying Claps for Fighter in Silver - 110 Missions)

November 11th, 1943 - [Unintelligible] "Geschwader Horst-Wessel" ("Geschwader Horst-Wessel" Cuff Title)

August 4th, 1943 - Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwartz (Wound Badge in Black)
January 11th, 1945 - [Nearly Unintelligible] (Pennant to the Front Flying Clasp - 300 Missions)

There remains two other awards on his service record that I cannot read, but I believe that both the Kreta and green Afrika Korps cuff titles are not on the list at all.
