Just fittling with the idear of what Sora's mom did when he got back
For those of you not familiar with KH2,
Spoiler ahead! 
Everyone forgot about Sora except for those closest to him had some residual feelings= they couldn't remember him but they knew they forgot. Then as Leon stated, everyone remembered him at the exact same time (which was when Sora woke up). Now we dunno how families stand in this series except for that Kairi was presumably adopted by the mayor (as mentioned in Sora's flashback)
and that Sora at least has a Mom since you hear her voice in KH1 
So in a year's time imagine going around seeing pictures of a boy you don't recognize and having a room upstairs that belongs to someone you can't remember...then in a poof..."I have a son!"
Funny to think that maybe the reason he left was cause she forgot about him
At least that's how I made her think was the cause in this pic X3So yeah, best way to go about it is hug, apologize, and promise
I was gonna put Kairi and Riku in there somewhere but I got lazy
Besides, best to let em have some mother-son time since he's been gone so long

Aww!! What a perfect mother and son reunion! This is so sweet and I really love this omg! I love how clingy the mother is and how Sora is frozen upon place. Might not be used to hugs, despite that he received some from Tron, Kairi and even Donald and Goody at the end.Β
This inspired me months back during Christmas Time where I written a KH Christmas fanfiction and included some scenes where Sora and his mother interact. I really lived portraying them like this, as you never see this in the games!!

I always wondered where the mum was in all this, all I ever heard from her was "Sora! Dinner's ready! .... Sora?" and for the rest of the games you just never see her again!
I thought she may have completely forgotten him permanently or something.
