Each individual pattern is so detailed, makes it look really nice. And the way you've done it makes it really look very much like some sort of ancient wall tablet type thing. Too neat :]

I have always liked the carved walls of Darius the First of Persia. I was inspired by that. That and images from beastiaries... And thanks

Great work, it looks like an illustration from medieval bestiary. A little dim and colourless, perhaps, but it makes the griffin more authentic

This is...mindblowing. It looks like a Persian mural or something...There's nothing I can really say that will do justice to this one...Um...I like the way the anatomy has been simplified into design motifs on the legs. And the color, tone, texture, everything about it just meshes perfectly with the line drawing itself. Wow...I'm very impressed. I hope you do many more like it!

I was going to do the griffin family tree. The Homa is next. I have to say I browowed some of that from Darius the First's palace walls. Somewhere I kinda want to go to now.
