[link]Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt by NIN has me in genuine tears right now... what a beautiful and tragic way to finish a long and incomparable career as an American legend. I can't help but wonder if he knew he was about to die when he recorded this, it's just so genuine...
It always amazes me how much music can change a person... how inspirational, painful, and vital it can be. I could listen to Johnny Cash every day, and that voice would still cast the same magic on me.
What an artist... I hope he's remembered forever.

Johnny said in his last interview, shortly after the HURT video and his wife's death, that he knew he was going to die soon. It really pleases me that this was his last song. The meaning I get from it and the video is that, even though he's old and things will be over soon, if he had to do his life over again, he wouldn't change anything about it.

And for the drawing, very nice! I love the pose you have to this man, shows his passion to the fullest.
If I could fix something , are maybe his eyes since they dont compare to the overall realism in this picture.

well i have to say that i never listened any cash songs before but i recent listened this song and i feel that is one of the most powerful songs i've ever listened, and maybe of all time, completely diferent and better than the original, i'ts almost like he tought this song like a goodbye song, rat work in this picture

He did know, when he made it - he knew he was ill, and he knew his wife was going to die soon as well. There's a video, I think it's the official music video, of them making it, recording it, and she's sistting crying, because of how true and beautiful it all is, but how desperately sad as well.
The crosshatching style you've used is really effective here, given Cash's voice and persona - it just works really well. And the expression is heart wrenching.
Great piece, and I don't think Johnny Cash will be forgotten in a hurry. Certainly not in Ireland - the Irish are huuuge fans of him after he wrote 40 shades of green.
