Personal piece for fun. The first in a slew of Gaming illustrations I did. This had a brief moment in the limelight on well known gaming website Kotaku.Check it out here:

I found it hilarious that people were offended by this. Which made me think, 'don't be ridiculous. I can be much more offensive than that.' Seriously though, it's a parody piece about outsourcing and I thought it was a clever way to show it. Please, don't actually create an arcade machine powered by child slave labor.

Open-source government is the solution i think. Right now there is no transparency in government because it behaves like a cartel for big business.

I just don't see how this could work.
I mean look at this little guy.
He has to compensate for hadokens, and shoryukens. Cancels, dashes, How does he do the partical effects? I mean what about the people in the background who are cheering for him, does he have to make that happen to.
I mean there has to be atleast 6 other children stuff in there. I think that arcade cabinet could atleast handle 6. Sure, they'd have to be disfigured a little, but to make the game run. It's a small price to pay.

This is really great because there are so many ways that a person could interpret this. I see it as a piece about how products that people enjoy sometimes rely on child labor. The style is really beautiful as well, I really like the tones that you painted the child with.

I'm really curious about the actual idea/message behind it, your version. I come from a country where people (especially programmers) are contracted for outsourcing. You seem to imply there's some sort of exploitation going on, but that's simply not the case. What counts as a meager salary in the US is a decent sum in Eastern Europe, for instance. The only country that's actually harmed by this is the one that outsources, not the little "slave" inside the arcade machine

I found this very funny. I thought this was about a child showing his puppeteer skills to an audience.
After finding out the truth behind the artwork through your comments and others, I still did not find it offensive.

Well when you think that minerals used in modern electronic devices come from African children cheap-laboring in mines, how can this piece be offensive? It's a clear message of a truth (that people want to keep hidden away from their eyes---in an arcade machine ; ) )
