Β There is no doubt the Me262 was a horrifyingly effective fighter for it's day. It is fortunate they were never manufactured to any meaningful numbers.

Ya got some inspiration from two pics of B17s.one the got slashed down the body when a Fw-190 hit it and the other from a 17 that had the nose blown off up to the cockpit. All in all a awesome job.

Not sure that the 262 pilot is going to make it out of there; judging by the size of the B-17 the 262 is very close to that wreck, and worse, while I'm not sure about the speed of the 262 considering it's in a dive I highly doubt it'll be able to get out of the way soon enough and lose an engine, and a wing.

I've seen the damages that could be made by the ME-262 and the ME-163, and you're right, it ain't a pretty sight, it felt like the coming of the tanks in WWI only its Jets in the airΒ

My grandfather was a radioman on B-17s in Europe during the war. Wonder if his unit ever ran into the jets.

Indeed...he passed away in 1992, but I still have all his medals. His brother was also a bomber crewman (no idea what position, though); he was shot down over France in late August 1944.
