!!RANT WARNING...maybe even spoilers!!*Gasp* Cory drawing Dorothy...the girl he hates...the girl who murdered one of his heroes...the girl who stole shoes of a dead body...DID I SAY THE GIRL WHO KILLED ELPHABA!?!
And yes: I did draw her. Only becasue I have started reading "Son of a Witch" and thought it was cute that Liir had a crush on her (even though she killed his mother...by accident...so maybe I was to quick to judge....)
End of rant.
Anyway this is an...illustration?...from "Son of a Witch." Liir and Dorothy walking back to the emerald city with Elphaba's burned broomstick and her cloak. And yes the shoes are ruby because it says in "Wicked" that when Glinda enchants them they become ruby colored! In this picture Liir is 14 and Dorothy is 12. The picture is very Disney-ish...but thats just what happens when I draw! lol Dorthy does accidentally look like Belle. tee hee (random nerd fact: Belle's blue dress is based on Dorothy's in "The Wizard of Oz")lol
Well I think I am done...for now...I'm in a wierd mood right now! lol Good night!

I love both Dorothy and Elphaba (at least the musical Elphaba; my mom read Wicked; she didn't like it and advised me not to read it). I didn't know Belle's dress was based on Dorothy's; I always thought it looked more like Alice's

Here's something I would like to see. Remember the scene in the Wizard of Oz when Elphaba takes Dorthy prisoner? Well, I'd like to see Elphaba use a time travel spell on Dorthy to go back to when she and Glinda were roomates. Imagine Dorthy's reaction to that.

I think Liir could forgive Dorothy on terms of lack of knowledge. Think about it, Dorothy had no knowledge about Elphaba's past whatsoever. Really, perhaps you should blame Glinda. That women must have had something very important knocked loose in her brain.

Actually, Glinda sent Dorothy on this wild goose chase, instead of just telling her then and there that she could've just gone home herself, knowing that the Wizard of Oz would send her to kill Elphie. And she took what was rightfully Elphaba's, too. Glinda has an undiagnosed disease *hehe*.

I don't know about that. Glinda did say quite bluntly that she didn't think Dorothy would believe her if she told her that. Besides, Dorothy did need to learn that if she ever went looking for her heart's desire again, she would have to look no further than her own backyard.
If Glinda started telling Dorothy about Elphaba's past she'd either exhaust Dorothy or just get committed.

At least she could've given Dorothy the two options: the long way (goose-chase) or the short way (there's no place like home!). And Dorothy just really wanted to go home, anyways. Or Glinda could've given the shoes to Elphie, and send Dorothy home herself.
BTW I didn't read the book all the way yet. I'm taking this stuff from the movie

Actually, it's Elphaba that enchants Nessa's shoes and change them to red, not Glinda. Sorry, I'm a huge "Wicked" fan. Seen the show 4 times AND have friends in the cast in NYC. lol

Actually, This is based on "Wicked: The Live and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" and "Son of a Witch" by Gregory Maguire. In the novel it is Glinda that enchants Nessaroses' shoes. I know very well that in the musical Elphaba does it. The novel is completely different.
Liir doesn't even exist in the musical.

You're right about the book. I TOTALLY forgot. lol It's been ages since I read the book and when you've seen the musical like...100 times...that's what's in the front of your mind. Ha! And yeah, is it weird that I wish they'd do "Wicked the Musical 2" so they could add in Liir? lol

Dorothy didnt kill Nessa, Morrible did. (Well, in the play she did. It was just an accident in the book, if i remember correctly.) And Elphie's death was an accident too. Dorothy didnt know she'd never touched water in her entire life. (Except when she cried in the hotel... With Fiyero <3 ^^) Great job with this! They look pretty cute together!!!

2. I hate Dorothy. Not only did she kill Elphie, but she's so whiny, and in reality didn't even regret doing it. She's just an annoying self-serving punk who wanted to go home. >_<
3. I liked Son of A Witch, but it wasn't as good as Wicked.

<3 Liir! This is a very cute picture. Liir seems very pale, compared to how Fiyero was supposed to look. Hm. Maybe gets it from his Mom's side? The "sigh" look on Dorothy's face just takes the cake. xP
