Description Stokesosaurus clevelandi with a colour palette inspired by cheetahs, leopards and some species of varanid lizards because I think they fit it's ecology.
It was probably a relatively fast runner compared to the other species in the formation. Given it's size (~5m) it may have hunted Drinker, Othnielosaurus, (Subadult)Dryosaurus, Ornitholestes, Fruitadens and other small-ish critters.

I do not own references used, they belong to

Stokesosaurus is one the lead character in my future novel Dominant . This is also one of my favorite tyrannosauroid! Cool depiction though!

5m? Last I checked, Stokesosaurus is closer to 2.5m.

Exuse me good sir, but I have to highly disagree with your depiction. An highly accurate and updated source(zootycoon.wikia.com/wiki/Stoke… , or www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lymqhl… ), stokesosaurus was an apex predator "capable of killing much larger animals than itself, including CarnotaurusUtahraptor ,Stegosaurus  and Tyrannosaurus Rex "(zootycoon.wikia.com/wiki/Stoke… ).

Was I enought sarcastic?

The cheetah/lizard colors are pretty! I tend to color my Stokesosaurus like a secretary bird myself.

Thanks! I think that colour scheme would also fit really well.

I think it has to do with how I tend to think of the Morrison Formation as like the African savanna and for some reason I picture Stokesosaurus filling the secretary bird niche.

I think it's niche would be much closer to that of a cheetah or leopard.

It's beautiful! The choice of basing the patterns on spotted felidae and varanids is very 90's but it really works and it feels right! It has a bit of a mark Hallet feeling. Way to go!

Thanks! I just gave it a colour scheme that I thought made the most sense for it's ecology.
