Thank you for the compliment This was taken right before it got totally dark. The color in the clouds are true. I only adjusted contrast a little bit in order to pull some detail in the clouds.

Thanks, Jonathan I went out yesterday for about 4 hours to Sheridan Lake about 30 miles from here and took a couple hundred shots The vast majority won't be posted as lots of them are just me fooling around with different settings and modes to see what's what. I even managed to get some dust up on the viewfinder Don't know how, but it's there (was, I removed it) So, every shot has to be de-speckled with a clone tool *bang head*

Oh man,that sucks
I`ve so far taken something like 2,500 pics with my Canon I think and I`ve yet to see any dust specs on my shots,so I`m happy with the sensor cleaning on this model for sure
Get yourself a good cleaning brush for that lens John,probably be less time consuming that cloning them out on the

Yeah, I'm puzzled as to how it got in there. I hadn't had my lens off at all that day. I have much to learn about DSLR's I still got some bits I need to get like the cleaning brush you mentioned and a lens cleaning kit. I am finding that fingers will get on lenses even when they are nowhere near them.

Great shot -- the clouds and the treeline remind me of sunsets and evenings in the forests near the northern CA coast, where I grew up. Awesome clouds and the colors are amazing.

Thank you very much I think the areas are very similar. this is in the Black Hills of South Dakota--lots of ponderosa and douglas fir pine here, but not nearly as much rain
