You know, just because she doesn't like you, doesn't _necessarily_ mean she's shallow and can't see the "real you". It can be a comforting, seductive thought because that makes it her fault, rather than a failing on your part.
But sometimes, if she doesn't like you, it actually is because she just doesn't like *you*, for whatever reason. Just for example, being awkward, clingy, and needy, and professing instant, eternal love at first sight, can kinda be a turn-off for some girls, odd as it sounds. Or being the kind of person who would take a personal and ultimately minor tragedy like a rejection/slight as an excuse to launch an all out war in revenge could also be a reason.
I've known (and arguably have been) too many geeks, nerds, and assorted other brands of outcasts who have fallen prey to the same rationalizations. So sorry Discord, I know it hurts, but I'm just not feeling too much sympathy or forgiveness for later actions, here. Or at least not yet, and not just on your word.
But seriously, the art's awesome so far, and the story looks good; a different take on events, a different point of view (even if I don't have too much sympathy) is always interesting.

Totall agree, and the artist made similar comments on his original comics.
Basically saying that Discord was evil and this was more of an excuse to create chaos. He made the responsible argument that this was Discord's fault alone, not Celestia's.
Honestly I'm really glad he didn't make this Celestia's fault- that is a horrible lesson that if you don't like a guy, it's your fault and you should feel guilty. Bullshit.
If you haven't, you should absolutely read the original comics (they're in his scraps folder for some reason). I actually prefer the original, but this is still amazing art as always.

If I had only one complaint... I do so very much wish this would fill in more of my monitor when viewing.
