Description On her GW150 sojourn into Cornwall, No. 7029 'Clun Castle' returns to Plymouth on the 15.10 from Truro, here seen leaving Lostwithiel on September 6, 1985. 7029 went new to Newton Abbot (83A) in 1950 and also spent a couple of months at Laira (83D) in 1957 before returning to Newton. As engines from both sheds worked frequently into Cornwall, 'Clun' was a highly appropriate locomotive for this train. Originally, 'City of Truro' had the job but I don't think she was ready in time. We were quite happy with 'Clun' though.

I could make a CORN-y joke right now, but it wouldn't be worth EXPRESS-ing

Just Cornish express or is it Cornish Riviera?

Not the Riviera although it would have looked like this in its heyday. This train was called 'The Cornubian' although no headboard was carried.

Without a doubt in this shot. It's brilliant. Even the carriages have such a glorious shine.
